Elaine Lam is the Vice President of Marketing Technology at Sephora US. In her role, Elaine drives the infrastructure strategy that powers Sephora’s marketing capabilities, enabling seamless, data-driven experiences across channels, campaigns, and personalized customer journeys. She and her team oversee personalization and CRM, data science, marketing and creative technologies at the retailer.
With more than 20 years of experience in the retail industry, Elaine joined Sephora in 2011 and has since played an instrumental role in advancing the systems, measurement and capabilities that support Sephora’s marketing strategy. Before her current role, she served as the Vice President of Marketing Insights, advancing Sephora’s marketing effectiveness and client research strategy to enable more integrated, insight-driven decision-making across the organization. During her tenure, she has also led cross-functional initiatives that have driven measurable business impact, including the transformation of Sephora’s promotions strategy and ecommerce strategy
Prior to Sephora, Elaine held various roles at Orchard Supply Hardware, Amazon, and Sycamore Networks. Elaine received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia and a master’s degree from Harvard Business School. She currently lives in San Francisco.
