Weiting is the mother of twins Hugo and Kendall, who received Early Intervention services from Easterseals Northern California. In her own words, she shares how the program supported her family during an uncertain time and helped her sons reach meaningful developmental milestones.
Our family has been connected with Easterseals Northern California since our twins, Hugo and Kendall, were infants. As parents of extremely premature twins born at 24 weeks, we were navigating many medical and developmental challenges and were looking for guidance and support during a very uncertain time.
One of the reasons we came to Easterseals was because we heard wonderful things about Karina from other families. After meeting her, we immediately understood why so many parents spoke so highly of her. Karina was not only knowledgeable and professional, but also genuinely caring and invested in our children’s growth. She always took the time to understand our concerns, celebrate every small milestone, and encourage us during difficult periods.
Our boys truly enjoyed their sessions with her. Karina built a strong connection with both Hugo and Kendall, and they were always excited to see her. She made learning feel natural and fun while helping them develop important skills.
Since starting services with Easterseals, we have seen tremendous progress in our children. Both boys have grown in their communication, social engagement, and overall development. As children diagnosed with cerebral palsy and born extremely prematurely, every milestone has required extra effort, and Easterseals has been an important part of that journey.
As caregivers, Easterseals provided much more than therapy services. The team gave us guidance, reassurance, and hope. They helped us better understand our children’s needs and empowered us to support their development at home. Knowing that we had caring professionals walking alongside our family made a meaningful difference.
We believe people should support Easterseals because early intervention can truly change the trajectory of a child’s life. The services not only help children reach their potential but also provide families with the support, knowledge, and confidence they need during challenging times.
Before coming to Easterseals, we often felt overwhelmed and uncertain about what the future would look like for our children. Through the support we received, we gained practical tools, valuable resources, and a community of professionals who genuinely cared about our family’s success.
